shantycharlie: My name is Charlie Goodwin, born to English Mother and Spanish Father. Grown up by the sea on the Island of Palma de Mallorca. The sea was my playground, learning to swim at a young age and discovering various water sports such as, body boarding, surfing and scuba diving. I was a lifeguard for 5 years and supervised the rescue service of the beaches of the county of Calvia.

In my early 20´s I backpacked around Asia, which I embraced a variety of cultures. On returning home to Palma I became involved in the hospitality and entertainment industry, were I part owned a music bar, marketing new bands. However, my heart was still set on a career in the yachting industry, as an experience tender driver, I took the decision to gain my RYA Yachtmaster Coastal qualification.

After two pleasant years at the concert hall “Factoria de So” and 5 Years as a Lifeguard Supervisor in the rescue service of Calvia “Proteccion Civil” . I skippered the rescue boat, tender Lima 8. Logging up to 25.000 nautical miles, and attending personally to over 300 distress calls. I have a good capacity for learning and my ability to respond immediately to the moments of maximum stress. During my excellent and varied career that has allowed me to enrich my knowledge and skills in all areas, reflecting my professionalism.

As you can see from my CV, I've had the opportunity to be on board crew member on several sailing yachts. Including S/Y Isheda, a 23m and 40 ton and 15 year old Greek Ketch. Where I was 1st mate. The experience was tremendously challenging and gratifying by the extraordinary experience that I gained on board the Greek Kaiki. I am an enthusiastic and keen sailor, willing to learn from my peers and progress within the industry.

Ciemny: To become crew in deck department of a large private or charter yacht and make full use of my qualifications and experience; at the same time as broaden my knowledge to obtain OOW certificate.

dietlind: I am looking for position as a deckhand on board a private or charter/ motor or sailing yacht no bigger than 50m. Having been raised on the coast and with a sincere love for the ocean, I would like to apply this affinity together with my maritime training and three seasons of experience in a career at sea. I am working towards my OOW. Not shy to stick out my head and buckle down to demanding tasks. I am a quick learner and can stay focused even through the hard yards. I believe I go about tasks in detailed and conscientious way. Applying this perspective to even the mundane tasks of life has served me well, and having the privilege to do same on board a yacht was and will again be but a pleasure. I would like to hone my skills on deck and learn all I can. I have no problem with occasional interior duties and will happily do whatever is required of me, however I am looking for a position that will allow me to grow, further my training and reach my goals on deck. I am looking forward to being part of a dynamic crew. I am currently in South Africa and will be back in the Med area in March 2012.
