Find Crew

MarieHelena: I'm looking to join as a crew-member on-board a sailing vessel for a long distance sail. I currently live in Hawaii and work as a marine ecologist and a research SCUBA diver. My work consists of going on 1-3 month long research expeditions to remote, US-Pacific owned islands where we conduct underwater scientific surveys of the reefs (places we visit are Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, Johnston Atoll, Phoenix and Line Islands, American Samoa and Mariana Archipelago).
I am looking to sail around islands in the southern and western Pacific, Indian Ocean, PNG, New Zealand and Australia but am open to any other location and am really looking for the right opportunity with the right captain/crew/boat. I'm open to any idea and opportunity!

Captain Ben: I have experience in: charter fishing, commercial fishing, SCUBA diving, eco and dolphin tours, marine mechanics, OSHA safety standards (I am OSHA 500 certified), I hold a current passsport and TWIC card and have a 6 pack captain's license! I have taken and aced the 100 ton course/test, but was working on the road when I was due to turn it all in and couldn't get away!
I am looking for a position to get me through the winter season, I can do virtually anything onboard - and am even an awesome cook!

13masks: I live on boats. 5 years of Commercial fishing for salmon in Alaska. Commercially diving for Sea Cucumbers in AK, as well.

My goal is to own my own sail boat, but I have much to learn before making that step.

So I'm putting myself out there as available to those who want good, hardworking company on the water. Eager to learn. Never complain. I spend most of my life enjoying it, and I know the best way to do that is to continually challenge yourself.

I have a nice wide open schedule. Willing to go just about anywhere.

I'm a mean cook. And a scuba divemaster. Sea shanties available upon request.
