SPAM ALERT

Scammers, Spammers and internet fraud

In the last 2 months we've seen an influx of fake boat postings, usually offering a number of jobs and often asking to send your CV to a free email account (not an email account linked to a legitimate company)

Whilst our Crewbay Webmaster is hot on the heels of these fake boats, deleting them usually within hours of them being online, we're unable (at this time) to stop them from spamming our members. Crewbay is committed to providing a free and reliable platform for our members and so we're taking measures to alter the registration pages for boat owners/skippers so we can eliminate all  fake postings.

Here are some of the fake boats we've encountered:

Crunard Cruises (confirmed by the legitimate company as not advertising with us)

Roland Recruiting Yacht Club

Voyages of Discovery Cruise Lines (confirmed by the legitimate company as not advertising with us)

Orient Lines

London River Cruises Ltd (confirmed by the legitimate company as not advertising with us)

Hughes Recruiting Yacht Club

NOTE:

Crewbay does not check or vet any of it's members so we would always advise plenty of interaction and dialogue before sending a CV.

Do not send any money up front.

Do not send copies of any personal identification.

When applying for any job opportunities be suspicious of email addresses from reputable companies that use a free email account like hotmail or gmail.
