World Circum Navigation on Time AUT 2, starting in the Med 2026
Dear sailors,
ever since I started sailing more than 50 years ago, I knew that one day I would sail around the world.
After my retirement, this "One Day" has come. I first bought Dufour 44, later a Beneteau Oceanis 523, now a Sunbeam 53 and started preparing it for the big voyage. Now it has almost become a new ship in terms of safety, comfort and elegance - paired with the charm of a classic shipbuilding with lots of wood in the interior and a teak deck for even more comfort. A generator, a watermaker, solar power and much more ensure extensive, autonomous long-distance travel suitability.
I will start my journey in spring 2026 in Slovenia, going along the coasts of Italy, southern France and Spain, via Gibraltar and Madeira to the Canary Islands. There I will set off with or without the ARC towards the Caribbean in November.
After that crossing the Panama Channel and spend 2027 in Galapagos and French Polynesia. The tour will end with finishing the world cirumnavigation around Cape of Good Hope back to the Caribbean.
I'm open to any kind of sailors, that want to share the experience of coastal sailing, ocean crossing and the pleasure of sailing.
When it comes to taking friends, family and other guests with me, the ship offers comfortable space for another four people. I don't do it for the money, but because I like to have people around me and to share my joy with them.
Talking about the money: For me as the owner and skipper it's common, that everyone - including me - pays it's own expenses and contributes to the costs of the trip (fuel, harbour fees, entrance fees,, ...). There also will be some small fee for the usage of the boat and having an experienced skipper. This fee depends on the type of the trip, your contribution to sailing and we talk about it individually.
A little about me: I've just turned 67, in good physical condition, love good food and wine, like music. I like to talk and discuss with interesting people, pass on my knowledge or just hang out and enjoy the quiet time.
Above all, I want to have a good time, live without drama, be able to plan and travel from day to day, get to know new people and cultures, be able to get involved somewhere useful and experience a lot more.
In terms of sailing I´m a little bit old fashioned: I like paper charts and do the navigation with them, I have a sextant on board, I can get the grib-files for the weather forecast and there is also a NAVTEX installed. Of course there are Raymarine Instruments, Starlink and Iridium on board too.

If you want to know more about me, please contact me. There is still a lot to tell, especially about my last years as Ocean sailor and live aboard!
Thomas
Bahama's to FL 2024
I spent three weeks on Thomas' yacht and from day one felt safe and secure due to his excellent sailing experience and knowledge. He was always very happy to share and teach, as well as making me feel very welcome and indeed part of his round the world adventure. Importantly, I was made to feel at home, something which is very important when there are just two of you for three weeks of intense sailing. We successfully caught and filleted a Mahi Mahi and Wahoo which was fantastic fun. I would thoroughly recommend crewing with Thomas and would very much welcome a chance to sail with him again.
