Sharing life on board

Hello there, here Captain Mat and skipper Kate.

We bought our catamaran about 8 months ago and sailed down to Spain during winter. Here in Galicia, we are going to spend some time to work on boat and get to know Galicia a bit more. We have 2 big jobs ahead: changing batteries, building sprayhood.

Therefore we are not offering much of sailing, even there probably would be some in Rias Bajas. But we are always happy to welcome nice people on board if someone would be interested to see, what is it like to live on boat and would not mind us working on project to get the boat into better shape.

Let us know if you interested.

We have our own webpage and sending out newsletter every Sunday. Let us know if you would be interested to read those and get us know a bit more.

Take care and fair winds to those who sail :)

Kat&Mat

  • Boat descriptionOur Apache 41 is catamaran with 4 cabins, where we are able to host up to 6 beautiful people. Each cabin is having its own sink, space to store a clothes and enjoy piece of cosy quietness. Catamaran is having build-in fully equipped kitchen, where we like to bake our sourdough bread and make our morning tea. Two sinks with both options of water. Saloon provides little oil heater called Antarctic for colder days, desk with sofa with some pillows and library, which will host you with interesting books of sailing topics but also a classic literature. We like to make music and therefore there is a guitar on board, saucepans to drum :). Shared bathroom with shower and toilet, mirror and all minimalistic needs to stay away from waste. Deck is roomy and gives enough space to comfortably move around, do yoga or just enjoy sunrises. Attached latter will give you a support to climb back on board and relax in cockpit on some fluffy pillows. Two areas of net could be in use as well. Our cat is for now empowered with 2 diesel engines of 27hp which in future would be replaced for electric engines- yes we would like to have our blue surroundings nice clean. In nautical speed we talk about approximately 7 knots. Four solar panels provide some electricity together with wind generator, which allow us to run autopilot on the steering wheel, wind speed indicator, depth finder, 2 x compasses, marine radio, GPS, AIS transmitter, radar reflector and so on. We provides some sailing clothing for passages (old but gold), epirb, life vests. Boat is equipped with fire extinguishers. Cat is accompanied with dinghy, engined by Evolution electric engine, which we promise to not to use unless very needy. Oars will keep us away from laziness unless wanted.
