We are looking for an experienced team that would like to join a newly built Swan 88. The crew consists of the Captain and two other professional sailors. The boat is a cutting edge cruising boat, with hybrid electric propulsion, hydrogeneration and with a lay-out suited to a family with 3 crew. The owners are family oriented, use the boat for 2-3 months per year and allow for limited charter activity so crew can make extra money and be engaged. This platform offers a terrific learning opportunity that includes the newest technology, a future oriented boat, run by a captain with over 25 years experience. He has worked with the owners since 2007. Successful candidates will meet the vessel in the Caribbean and join us for a delivery North to Newport RI. This should happen from April 2025. We need experienced crew comfortable with all aspects of sailing and maintenance. The ideal candidates have 5 years of professional sailing yacht experience on boats of 70'+. The plan is to sail from Newport this Summer to Maine and cruise Down East. The Boats home berth will be Newport RI, USA.
As captain I have 25+ years’ experience on boats including a, Oyster 72, Oyster 825, Swan 82 and now on Swan 88-001.
I have sailed over 70,000 miles, crossed the Atlantic 10+ times, and sailed the South Pacific to New Zealand.
I have worked with many professional teams through the years and have a strong background in yacht maintenance and project management. Back in the early 2000's I was operations manager of 11 race charter yachts and captain of an IACC Americas Cup Class yacht.
I have been Captain for this Family on and off, since 2007, sailing with them extensively in both Europe, the eastern seaboard of the States and through the South Pacific.
I work well with others, listen to new ideas and I love learning from enthusiastic and energetic people.
