Novice Crew for Sea of Cortez cruise on a fun cruising and racing sloop in Mexico
The boat is in Mexico. There are several opportunities this season to join Wings for sailing in Mexico.
1. We will sail from Puerto Vallarta Mexico in late January for a three week cruise to Barra be Navidad and Tenecatita (also in Mexico) for a festival there and some fun races.
2. We will sail on a three month cruise to the Sea of Cortez (or south to the Mexican gold coast) for relaxed cruising and great sailing. Crew for this cruise may join for shorter segments.
3. And for lots of sailing fun we will be racing in Banderas Bay from January through March and we can use crew for any of these races.
For all of these events crew will join Wings and stay aboard, working to operate the vessel and help with normal shipboard duties.
Except for races the boat will be sailed double handed.
This is not intended to be a romantic opportunity.
You do not need experience (complete novice is OK but if you have sailing or boating experience that will also be welcome); there will be excellent learning opportunities and sailing miles and experience will accumulate. Your captain will be a good, and gentle, teacher,
You will share sailing and domestic responsibilities on board as a partner, and these will increase as you learn the boat, the sea, and become comfortable with the cruise.
I have cruised extensively, including previous cruises in the Sea of Cortez and world wide. I have circumnavigated on this boat, it is well equipped for cruising and racing. I am healthy. active, and competent and gentle.
