South China Sea crossing
Looking for crew to cross the South China Sea, starting ASAP.
2 crew already with us, awaiting favorable winds
From: Labuan, Malaysia (Borneo) To: Pattaya, Thailand.
Might stop on the way by the Anambas, as well as/or Pulau Redang (Peninsular Malaysia), to be decided by the captain with input from the crew, as well as depending on the weather conditions.
Looking for any and all levels.. most important is a good attitude. the trip should last between 15-30 days (10-20 of which will be sailing), on the shorter side if we decide not to stop much. Crew are expected to contribute 30$ per day to cover all expenses, and responsibilities will be shared (most important being the watches, cooking, cleaning, other basic boat stuff...). This is a great experience especially for people new to sailing to learn a lot of the basics, the boat is a 16m ketch, 5.5m wide. Lots of sails to play with, not expecting too much wind this crossing but still enough to work with (we will avoid motoring as much as possible). There are 2 spacious cabins still available, on a first come first serve basis.
For people with little to no experience, willingness to learn is very important! If you do come with the right attitude, you will be able to learn a lot from this trip!
The boat will continue sailing around SE Asia, mostly Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia after this trip.
