Watch: ARC 2023

European Mile Builder – Sao Jorge 2024

• Leg 1: 20th to 26th Sept 2024 – A Coruña, Spain to Gibraltar (600 NM)
The first leg leaves A Coruña and takes the boat along the Portuguese coast to Gibraltar.

• Leg 2: 27th Sept to 8th Oct 2024 – Gibraltar to Malta (983 NM)
One of our longer sails, this is an excellent way to gain miles in a short period of time.

• Leg 3: 27th Oct to 5th Nov 2024 – Malta to Gibraltar (983 NM)
This is a challenging leg that takes you along the North African Coast, you’ll most likely experience all kinds of sailing conditions from being becalmed to strong winds and big seas.

Although it is not a planned stop, due to weather conditions the crew needed to stop in Algeria last year. Without anyone having a visa, the crew were not allowed to leave a small area of the marina. They made the most out of the situation, ordering pizza and playing touch rugby! This year, we will have either the skipper or an apprentice on board with a visa so they can make any supply runs necessary. It is not necessary for crew members to get this visa, but worth looking into.

• Leg 4: 6th to 12th Nov 2024 – Gibraltar to Las Palmas (730 NM)
Our most popular leg, this normally downwind sail gives you champagne sailing conditions and a perfect way to get to the ARC start line.

• There is a large chance we will be using Alcaidesa Marina on the Spain side of the border in Gibraltar. It is about a 15min walk from the Gibraltar airport. Please ensure you have checked the proper entry requirements for both Gibraltar and Spain if you are considering any of the above legs that include Gibraltar.

The boat was well taken care of, had enough safety gear. Neil -the skipper- was awesome, I learned a lot. Recommended.
