1st Engineer - Rotational - Min exp 4 years - €8000 - General (Europe)

Rotational position: sole engineer for maintenance period and Scotland

Our motor yacht will be in Hamburg until 1st April and we require a qualified (STCW III/3 or III/3(Y4)) engineer for annual maintenance in our engine room. In April and May the vessel will be in Scotland with guests on board and we require someone to take good daily care of engines and equipment on board.

We have another engineer but he's free on rotation during this period. We are very interested in having you as engineer in rotation (around 180 days / year) as well. However: in UK water we require UK passport or working permit.

Work Environment:
The role requires resilience, attention to detail, and the ability to work in challenging environmental conditions. The Engineer will often be the sole technical crew member onboard, requiring strong self-reliance, expertise, and adaptability. We have Starlink on board.

Main engine is CAT 3512, aux engines are Yanmar 4TNV. Hydraulics, water treatment, sewage treatment, cooling equipment, air handling unit and electrical issues should be no problem for you. We can promise a good handover in Hamburg with time to go through everything.

Yacht is certified MLC and contract is according to MLC. Salary is DOE and net, for time on board only. Seafarer is expected to pay taxes etcetera in country of residence.

The vessel is a converted fishing vessel, 38 metres and has Cook Islands Flag. Full A3 GMDSS, refitted engine room, sauna on board. The vessel is completely modern inside, but has an older feeling to it. Crew accommodation is shared. MLC certified, STCW applies. We sail with mainly German speaking passengers in Spitsbergen and Norway. Nature experience is our main goal: we have two professional guides on board who take the pax on hikes in the terrain and explain about wildlife etc. In the winter (November-February) we sail in Northern Norway, where we experience northern lights, snow hikes and hundreds of whales.
