Fast Sailing on a chartered Pogo 36 in South Brittany

I am planning my next sailing trip and there might be room on the chartered boat for competent crew.
We will be sailing around South Brittany in the area of Quiberon, Belle Ile, Glenans choosing our destination after wind and weather.
It might be possible joining also for parts of the time.

Since I sold my boat last year after 6 years and 12.000 miles on North Sea and Atlantic we chartered a very nice boat and will share the costs for charter and fuel / food.

The total charter cost of the boat for the time period is 3331 € and since there are 6 berths we will divide this by 6.
That means cost just for the boat per berth will be 555 € per berth(shared cabin) . At the moment there is also still the possibility for a whole cabin single use which would be 1110 €.
Added costs for fuel/food/marina will be divided through all incl. skipper. We will stay in that area and plan to do mostly sailing so fuel costs should be low.

The Boat is a Pogo 36 foot fast cruiser boat (only 3.8t weight) with gennaker and dinghi. 2 skippers with lots experience on board.

The boat likes to heel and needs some fitness and mobility. Some nice gennaker sailing with speed is to be expected. (if there is wind)

About me: I work as a freelancer and like (apart from sailing) music, playing guitar /singin and fresh and healthy food. Definitely no alcohol while sailing.

The crew has to pay their own travel expense to the starting port of Quiberon.

Weekend sail from Medemblik to Urk and back

I spend two days sailing with Chris. On the first we sailed from Medemblik to Urk and the second day we sailed back. This was my first crewbay experience and a great one. Chris has a sporty boat with many rigging options. So many things to learn. And Chris is very helpful to teach you things. I would be happy join for another trip and definitely recommend Chris to others.

For an offshore passage from the IJsselmeer to the Swedish west coast I joined Chris and Phillipp on Coriandre. Everything was well prepared and planned for. Both Chris and Phillipp have a lot of knowledge on many different aspects of sailing which they were happy to share. The boat is made for trimming and the guys are eager to do so. Life on board was straightforward and uncomplicated, Chris and Phillipp are open to any input and there was enough room for theoretical and hands on learning. I'd be happy to join again in the near future

Offshore from Medemblik to Strömstad

I joined Chris on Coriandre for a week's cruise from Holland To Sweden. The boat is in perfect condition, with all the navigation and security equipment one could wish for. While very sporty and focused on performance, Coriandre is also a comfortable cruising boat where it is easy to find one's own space, which is important when covering longer distances and spending consecutive days at sea as we did. Chris is a highly skilled sailor, with a wealth of knowledge about sailing and navigation he readily shares. He is also a very patient, even-tempered, interesting, and genuinely kind person I enjoyed spending time with and talking to. There would be many more positive things I could say about the week, but suffice to say I would gladly sail with Chris again.

Easter sailing cruise

Many thanks to Chris for the amazing cruise over Easter 2022 when we visited Harlingen, Vlieland and Terschelling. Even though the cruise was organized pretty spontaneously, organization and communication was very smooth. Chris is an experienced and knowledgeable skipper. For example he taught me to sail under Gennaker, which we hoisted a couple of times. Coriandre is in excellent condition, very well equipped and maintained. Looking forward to joining again anytime!

Weekend on the Ijsselmeer

Chris is an interesting and super nice person, easy to chat and spend time with. He really knows his boat inside out and if you're eager to learn more about sailing and sail trim, you should definitely join him. Needless to say, I felt absolutely safe at all times. Also, Coriandre is an excellently equipped and fun boat with many trim options and a large gennaker. I'll be happy to join again soon!

Had the pleasure to sail along with Chris. As a novice sailor with limited experience it was nice to find a captain who controls his boat like Chris does. Although there was a calm and relax atmoshere on the boat Chris has an interest in making the boat perform well. For me the ideal combo.

I had a very enjoyable 4 days with Chris on ‘Coriandre’ at the end of November assisting with his preparations for an RYA Yachtmaster exam. Chris is a capable, knowledgable and safe sailor who enjoys getting the optimum performance out of his boat. ‘Coriandre’ is beautifully presented and maintained. Add to that great company and cooking ( Chris’s) and what’s not to like?

I sailed with Chris for a week in June and it was a great experience. Chris is really aware about safety, loves to share his knowledge and is really motivated to sail. The boat is beautiful and we had some great speeds, tasty meals and relaxing evenings. I would sail with chris any day.

I had a Great time with Chris sailing on the IJselmeer. Chris is a sportive sailor, and I learned a lot on our trip. Chris is a good instructor, and stays calm when things don't directly go according to plan. On the ship a lot of gear was present to optimize the sailing performance. One evening we had a little jam session with guitars and Chris sung some nice songs. I would certainly sail with Chris again, and recommend him to anyone.

Easter weekend was a pleasure, since I got to spend it -with gorgeous weather!- on the IJsselmeer and Wadden Sea with Chris. Chris is a passionate sailor, and due to his analytic and studious nature, acquired a good amount of knowledge in a short time that he is gladly willing to share with anyone. If you are there to learn or exchange insights in sailing, build miles, have an active and sporty view on sailing, are openminded and like to talk, you will thoroughly enjoy your time with Chris. I have had the opportunity to sail in IJsselmeer with Chris for a whole weekend and during these two days he has proved to be a very competent sailor - with extensive knowledge - and a very nice person.
