Ostara Cruising

Ostara will be cruising the waters around Langkawi and Phuket for the coming months.

She will then be either heading for the Philippines or Sri Lanka.

I am looking for a mature female, someone willing to be a travel buddy to share the adventure of leisurely sailing stoping in remote bay's, exploring the various locations.

Ostara is a 40 foot Bavaria, Cruiser, she has a bit of history racing in Townsville and Port Douglas winning the Commodores Cup, Magnetic Island Race Week, Clipper Cup and Cairns to Port Douglas Race a couple of times.
Last year we sailed from Townsville to Selangor (Malaysia) participated in the Raja Muda, then up to Phuket for the Kings Cup.

We sustained some damage whilst racing and spent the year repairing and adding bits to make Ostara a true cruising yacht. We now run a water maker, kettle, toaster and air fryer on solar making life very easy indeed .

I have a choice to go back to the pacific via the Philippines and Papua or head across the Indian ocean, Red Sea and up through the Mediterranean. I’m happy to let the crew have input into the journey.

  • Boat descriptionOstara is a cruiser that can race, with two berths, she currently has all the safety gear for ocean crossings. She sailed up to Malaysia Thailand in 2024 where she competed in the Raja Muda and Kings cup. She has spent most of this year on the hard getting her makeup done and a few repairs and is coming up to having fun on the water. Will update more as the time gets closer.
