Boat: Leopard 44 Sailing Catamaran (4 cabins, 4 heads)
We are seeking 1–2 volunteer crew members (or a sailing couple) to join a passage from Bonaire to Puerto Velero, Colombia, departing December 4th, 2025. This is a shared sailing adventure on a well-maintained, ocean-proven Leopard 44 catamaran that has crossed both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. The boat is currently en route toward a Pacific crossing in 2026.
Passage Details
Approx. 425 NM direct route
Dates approximate and somewhat flexible.
Duration: 3–4 days direct or
Optional stop in Aruba for 1–3 days before crossing to Colombia
Arrival port: Puerto Velero Marina, located between Santa Marta and Cartagena
Easy onward travel by bus to either Santa Marta or Cartagena from Puerto Velero
Crew Requirements
Volunteer crew: unpaid, no onboard expenses during passage
Crew must pay their own transportation to Bonaire and from Colombia after arrival
Must be eligible to enter Colombia; please check current visa and entry requirements for your nationality
Ideally ASA, RYA, IYT, or equivalent experience or certified for basic sailing competence
Must be comfortable participating in overnight sailing
Expect 3-hour watch shifts, day and night
Participate in cooking and cleaning on a rotating basis
Non-smokers preferred
