Deckhand - Rotational - United States

My husband and I both retired from the medical profession and are former Iron Man triathletes and adventure racers who still love kite-boarding , spearfishing, biking, hiking and learning wing foiling. We are looking for crew with similar interests and energy levels and hopefully with some sailing experience to share watches and share responsibilities on the boat. We intend to circumnavigate the globe over the next two years, spending most of our time in exotic locations. Looking for team players. Our catamaran sleeps eight people comfortably in four state rooms and has four heads, we have plenty of medical equipment for doing any medical mission work needed along the way. Positions available for individual passages versus possibly for the long haul.
Feel free to call [blocked] to discuss.

  • Boat description"Medical Leave" is nicely appointed to circumnavigate the world. She has seven sails in her quiver and is a very fast and stable cat. We recently entered her in the "Regattas in the Abacos" series in our first racing attempt and did 4 of the five races and she finished in third place three out of four of those races! She is a newer boat with top of the line B+G instruments, an inside nav station and outside enclosed helm, three zeus monitors and autopilot, radar, We have a suzumar inflatible rib 10'6". We have four staterooms and four heads with electric heads. One stateroom also doubles as a medical equipment area and has two mtn bikes stowed in the aft half of the bed but the boat sleeps 7-8 comfortably. We have full ditch bags with two EPIRBS and have personal location devices on two of the lifevests. As medical professionals planning on doing some medical mission work, we have antibiotics, excellent wound care supplies, some orthopedic supplies, EKG and ultrasound, IV fluids, and many medications on board. We have icemaker, clothes washer, dishwasher (we never use), water-maker and three outdoor showers as well as four inside showers and a large solar array. What more could you ask for? Oh yes, toys: two inflatable SUPs, dive compressor and tanks, kite-boarding gear, wing-foiling gear, spear fishing and deep-sea-fishing gear, slalom water ski, mountain bikes, beach games and plenty of books and Star-link for full internet and phone communication. Considering renewing "Iridium Go" as a back-up emergency communication system, but have been delighted with Star-link. Most importantly, two medical professional owners that love to meet new people and share their wonderful boat with other like-minded individuals.
