Adventure Sail 2026: Amsterdam | Hamburg

The plan in 2026 is to sail from Amsterdam to Hamburg. Each leg covers approximately 250M, including a non-stop overnight passage.

The journey across the North Sea will be weather and tide dependent, but the expectation is to arrive at final destination within a week.

The sail to Hamburg will take place in June and the return leg will be in July.

You will be sailing with me, 45yo Yachtmaster on Babaika, a seaworthy 35’ Beneteau racer/cruiser, equipped with safety equipment, including radar, AIS. There is an autopilot onboard, but active sailing will still be necessary in rough conditions. There will be opportunities for learning and practice together.

We will sail with a max. of 3 onboard. The crew contribution cost is 300€ per leg and will cover board expenses.

  • Boat descriptionThe yacht is a 1984 Beneteau First 345 with tiller steering and well equipped for cruising. She was extensively upgraded with a hull and rig refit in 2022, new sails were made in 2023. All board electronics B&G, including AIS and radar. The yacht is equipped with mandatory life jackets and safety lines for each crew, EPIRB, fire extinguishers, flares, liferaft. The logbook of Babaika is filled with long distance cruising every season. Memorable trips include Helsinki to Amsterdam, Amsterdam via Copenhagen and up the Swedish archipelago, Amsterdam-London and the Channel Islands. There are 2 cabins on board which provides shared accommodation up to 4, including the skipper. However, we will normally be sailing in a team of 2, max. 3.
