Deckhand - Permanent - $3500 - General (Caribbean)
Hi! We are Brendan and Grant. We are seeking an experienced, reliable crew member to care for our 2025 Bali 4.8 catamaran while we travel during the summer months, with the possibility of continuing to sail the Caribbean with us in the fall and winter.
We sailed the vessel from Annapolis to the Eastern Caribbean, and she is in excellent condition. The position may begin as early as mid- to late February for the right candidate, allowing time to get oriented with the boat before our summer travel. From about April 1 through November 1, the boat will be based in Grenada, with occasional short trips when we are on board and periods where the vessel remains in port while we travel internationally.
The primary role is to act as a trusted caretaker for both the boat and our Australian Labradoodle, Henry, ensuring everything is well-maintained, organized, and ready for use upon our return.
Responsibilities include:
General yacht care and routine maintenance
Regular systems checks and light upkeep (no heavy mechanical work expected)
Coordinating and supervising vendors, yard periods, and service providers
Managing provisioning and keeping the vessel in a ready-to-go condition
Caring for Henry during our absences
Occasional local day sails or short vessel movements as needed
Availability during our periodic returns to the boat over the summer
This position is ideal for someone who is self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently, with prior catamaran or cruising experience. Familiarity with Grenada is a plus but not required.
There is potential for a longer-term role beyond November for the right person, as we are open to continuing the relationship if it proves to be a good fit on both sides.
