Looking for Competent Crew to help me get the hang of things.
Hi, new to sailing as I have just recently inherited a Colvic Sailer 26. Still a novice, hopefully getting more sailing lessons in the next couple of weeks. Looking for Competent Crew to help me get the hang of running a small yacht. Based at Inverkip on the Clyde estuary in Scotland. Hoping to sail the west coast and islands.
Mostly day sailing and short 2-3 day local trips for now.
I have sailed a few times under professional supervision and will be starting lessons in the next few weeks. I'm hoping to have work done on the boat mid March and have the boat ready for sailing end of March/early April. Then hoping to sail anytime I have available hands on deck.
I use crutches on land to take pressure off my spine in order to ease pain. I do not use them on board or in doors. Despite this I am more agile and nimble than most folks. However it does limit my sailing to 3-4 days before I have to take time off to recuperate. As my recovery progresses my time at sea will increase.
