Looking for a like minded companion to share life at sea aboard a Lagoon 42. Easygoing, respectful, and open to enjoying the journey together sailing, exploring, and taking things as they come.
Here’s the plan I have in mind:
We’ll be picking up the catamaran from the Lagoon factory in Les Sables d’Olonne, in northern France, around the second week of June. We’ll spend the first couple of weeks there preparing the boat and making upgrades a fresh start, fully ready for life onboard.
After that, we’ll begin sailing south. I’ve arranged for a lovely couple, both professional sailing instructors, to join us for this leg. They’ll be onboard as we sail through Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, and along the southern coast toward the Mediterranean. It’s about a 2,000 mile journey, and during that time we’ll gain hands-on experience so that by the end, we’ll be confident managing everything ourselves.
Once they leave, we’ll continue at our own pace, heading further south and east exploring places like Corsica and Sardinia. After that, the rest is up to us.
As for me, I grew up spending summers on boats with my family, so the sea has always been a part of my life. Last year, I completed a long cruise from the United Kingdom to Montenegro with my current boat, which was an incredible experience.
When we reach the south of France, the next step will be preparing for an ocean crossing next year and then continuing to explore the world.
What I’m really looking for is a companion someone who loves the sea, values freedom, and dreams of discovering the world by boat. A partner to share the journey, the adventures, and all the unforgettable moments along the way.
