Seeking a crew member
Hi potential crew.
I am hoping to sail my boat from Carribbean to Europe preferably UK,in a month and have "lost" a crew member and am seeking a replacement.
So let me try and get relevant details here.
Whilst I can't afford to pay you or I am afraid your flight(s), I will pay all on board costs and probably a few team meals out.
The start will be last week of march in Trinidad spending approx one week of working the boat up ready to head north with just you and me. We will be joined by another crew member in Antigua or st Maarten. You can either continue on or leave there.
My experience is YM and just finished circumnavigation on this boat. Before that was racing offshore on my previous boat. A total of about 30 years of experience.
The boat is a Grand Soleil 39 with liferaft, lifejackets, flares, VHF, sat phone,ais transceiver, EPIRB as well as windsteering gear.
I am fairly easy going, and enjoy the company.
If you are only interested in the Caribbean element that's not a disadvantage but be aware that we will not stop at every island as the aim is to allow us to clear out of Bermuda and be crossing the Atlantic before hurricane season commences.
I have sailed with many people I have never met before and I think I regard those trips as successful.
When on the move the boat is "dry" prefer non smoker but not a deal breaker if you do smoke,we can work it out. Definitely no recreational drugs of any category.
Competent crew/day skipper level upwards (IE you can keep a lookout and escalate when appropriate is basically what I seek.
