This is an opportunity to join us on SV Flying Fish on passage from Panama to the Marquesas. We are on a very seaworthy 2011 Leopard 44 catamaran with four cabins and private heads that we have been sailing as live-aboards in the Med, then crossing the Atlantic with the ARC 2024, cruising through the Caribbean, ABC's Colombia and Panama for the past three and a half years. We have all new standing and running rigging as well as a new set of sails including genoa, main and asymmetrical spinnaker.
TIMESCALE. This timescale allows for weather anomalies and shakedown cruising. All timescales are subject to weather conditions and go-ahead from French Polynesian authorities. Crew should plan to arrive in Panama City about April 20th.(Firm dates will be provided in early April) We expect to reach the Galapagos in a little under a week, spend about five days exploring the Galapagos islands, then, weather permitting, departing for an estimated 21 day sail to Marquesas.
SMOKING. No smoking or vaping onboard whatsoever.
ALCOHOL. No alcohol consumed throughout the sailing and only at the skipper's discretion (including a modest champagne toast to Poseidon as we cross the equator)
GEAR. Bring your own necessary sailing gear, lifejacket with harness (or borrow one of ours), and offshore PLB with AIS. Flying Fish has a new ISO six-person offshore liferaft with flares and a grab bag. Crew will also provide their own foul-weather clothing.
FOOD. There may be a mixed diet onboard, and we will shop together to make sure everyone’s dietary needs are met. Crew will be expected to take turns to cook and share all washing-up and cleaning duties. Breakfast will be self-serve.
SHAKEDOWN CRUISE. We plan a trip to Las Perlas islands off the Panama coast as a shakedown in advance of departure. Plus the skipper will require an online WhatsApp video call as a way of meeting in advance of departure. Please share your detailed questions at least 24hours in advance of your WhatsApp meeting via peter@svflyingfish.com
POINT OF CONTACT. Please share shore-based contact with an email/address/phone number for next of kin or (as appropriate) a person to contact in an emergency.

Description
Flying Fish is a 2011 Leopard Catamaran. We have owned it for three and a half years and it is fully upgraded for world cruising. It has four cabins, each with private head. We love Leopard\'s front cockpit with pass through door to the saloon. The boat has watermaker, generator, laundry, microwave, espresso maker, Starlink internet, 1250 watts of solar and 1256ah LiFePo4 batteries, AIS, radar, autopilot, new sails, newer bottom paint, and new standing rigging The boat is fully equipped for off-shore safety with life-raft, jack-lines, safety rails, Dan-Buoy recovery system, life jackets, fire suppression, emergency high capacity bilge pumps, emergency steering, drogues, tools and spare parts, ditch bags with food and water supply, Garmin In-reach emergency communications (and Starlink for day-to-day), radar, AIS, and all the requirements that ARC specifies for ocean crossings. Our sailing philosophy is that we're sailing to have fun and achieve lofty personal goals. We subscribe to weather services and sail conservatively vs. using a race mentality.

Peter Adams, male, 67
Nationality: United States
Currently based in: Colon, Panama
Experience: 4000 ocean miles / 6000 coastal miles
I'm a digital nomad, living and working aboard and sailing the Med, crossing the Atlantic, sailing the Caribbean, then off to the South Pacific. We have been on the move for the past few years, living aboard without a permanent home base and really enjoying the lifestyle. I work in non-profit management and venture capital industries, mostly Zoom calls by Starlink and I really enjoy being able to do this while sailing. I love the outdoors and when we're not sailing, we're skiing, hiking and backpacking in the mountains, or riding our bikes in exciting locations.
