International Training for Young People
Experience a unique 7-day international sail training adventure in the Baltic Sea, starting and ending in Kiel, Germany. From 17 to 23 August 2026, participants will become active crew members on the traditional sailing vessel Hendrika Bartelds, learning how to handle sails, steer the ship, and navigate at sea.
This is not just a trip, but a hands-on learning experience where young people from different countries live and work together on board. Daily life follows a structured watch system, including day and night shifts, where everyone contributes to sailing operations, cooking, and maintaining life on the ship.
No formal sailing experience is required to join. However, participants should be ready for an active and physically engaging week that involves teamwork, shared responsibilities, and living in close quarters on board.
Throughout the journey, participants will visit different ports, experience life at sea, and build strong connections within an international group. The program focuses on personal development, teamwork, communication, and intercultural exchange—creating an unforgettable adventure on the open water.
