Housekeeping/Stew - Temporary / Seasonal - United Kingdom
Live-in Personal Assistant required
On-board support • travel • sailing lifestyle a truly unique role
This is not a standard care job, it’s a rare opportunity to combine meaningful one-to-one support with extended time at sea.
We are looking for an open-minded, adventurous and compassionate person to support a young disabled lady who loves sailing and wants to keep living a full, active and curious life.
What makes this role different
This role is centred around:
• Life on the water and travel (extended periods on a sailing yacht during sailing season)
• One-to-one personal support in a private setting
• Human connection, motivation and independence
You will work closely with the individual at home in the UK and, most importantly, on board a sailing yacht during the sailing season.
The role is hands-on, personal and sometimes demanding but also deeply rewarding, varied, and unlike anything else.
The sailing side
During sailing season, you will be part of a small onboard routine, supporting the individual to enjoy life at sea safely and comfortably. This includes:
• Helping her settle into a daily rhythm on board (comfort, hygiene, meals, rest)
• Supporting safe movement and transfers on a yacht (sea legs, calm presence, good awareness)
• Providing companionship, conversation and emotional encouragement
• Helping maintain a tidy, organised living space on board
• Assisting with light cooking / meal support and general day-to-day tasks onboard
Important: You are not expected to handle the boat, navigate, or perform technical deck duties.
An interest in sailing and being at sea is key, professional sailing experience is a plus, but not essential.
Care & home support
The role also includes personal assistance at home and while travelling, such as:
• Personal and intimate care (washing, dressing, hygiene)
• Practical daily support and organisation
• Emotional encouragement, patience and consistency
• Supporting social life, outings and activities
This is a live-in, long-term role within a small, private and respectful environment.

We are not looking for a purely medical or institutional profile.
We are looking for someone who is:
• Kind, calm and emotionally intelligent
• Comfortable living and working closely with one person (trust-based 1:1 support)
• Flexible, adaptable, and genuinely enjoys variety
• Physically fit and confident with hands-on support
• Drawn to the sailing lifestyle and comfortable spending extended time on a boat
You might be:
• Early in your career and looking for a meaningful, real-life experience
• Someone who enjoys challenge, responsibility and learning
• Interested in travel, sailing, and a non-traditional lifestyle
• Motivated by people, not routine
Previous care experience is helpful, but not essential. Training and support will be provided.
What we offer
• A rare, genuinely meaningful position in a private setting
• Significant time at sea during sailing season
• Variety between home life, travel and sailing
• Opportunity to build confidence onboard and gain real-life experience at sea
• Stable, long-term employment
• Competitive package (shared during interviews)

• Fluent English
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel internationally
