Cruising Fiji 2026
Now located in Fiji after a great passage north from NZ I'll be spending the season in Fiji and would love to share the experience rather than sail alone. I would like to sail the Yasawas and the Lau group of islands but open to other ideas.
Ideally I would like to have a lady onboard, possibility of a long term arrangement should things naturally go that way.
An excellent boat the Outbound 46 is regarded as one of the most capable cruisers out there. Well equiped with all the comfort and safety equipment needed to have fun and keep safe.
I have 2 kayaks onboard, a great dingy, snorkel gear. I like to cook and eat well.
Very experienced captain with in excess of 160,000 miles at sea over decades of living onboard and sailing around the world. I do all my own work onboard and the boat is in excellent condition. She is truly ready to go and I will have completed the 1,000 mile passage up from NZ early May.
Crew/guest has own cabin, all boat running costs covered, share cost of provisions. No smoking of any substance, no drinking at sea. happy hour beers/cocktails encouraged in moderation.
If of interest please get in touch and we can set up a phone call on Whatsapp.
PS. The message I received from my crew who sailed up with me......
Hi Geoff. Hope you’ve been able to catch up on well deserved rest!
Now that I’ve finally had a moment to properly process the last seven days, I just wanted to say a huge thank you again for allowing me to join you on the passage to Fiji. It genuinely was one of the adventures of my lifetime and something I’ll never forget. I feel incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to experience an ocean crossing like that with someone of your sailing experience, knowledge and capability.
From the moment we left Opua, I always felt completely reassured by both your seamanship and the incredible seaworthiness and preparation of the boat. It gave me such confidence knowing I was in safe hands, and that allowed me to fully enjoy and embrace the experience — even in the bigger conditions! I learned so much during the trip and came away with an even deeper respect and appreciation for offshore sailing.
The whole passage was honestly life-changing for me — the night watches, the stars, the sunrises, arriving into Fiji after days at sea… it was all just magic. Thank you for sharing that experience with me and for being such a calm, capable and generous skipper throughout the trip.
I hope you have an absolutely amazing season cruising around Fiji. I’d genuinely love to keep in touch and hear how your adventures unfold from here, so please keep me updated on where the boat takes you next.
Wishing you fair winds, safe sailing and an unforgettable season ahead.

Great sailing and hiking in New Zealand!
I sailed with Geoff for over a month around the North Island of New Zealand this Feb 2026. He is a very experienced captain on an extremely well maintained and safety oriented boat. We had a great time sailing and hiking the beautifull trails of New Zealand. Geoff is a very friendly person and is also a fantastic cook. I recommend sailing with Geoff anytime.
