Greetings Sailors and Adventurers!

Interested in sailing in French Polynesia? Able to travel?

On December 4, I signed the bill of sale for Cyrolia, my Jeanneau 53. My plan will be to sail for 3 to 4 weeks at a time, and then return back to California for about a week to handle business and personal projects, and then return back to the boat.

I will be sailing and exploring French Polynesia. I sailed her for the first time on December 31, from Taina Marina, to Moorea, and then to Bora-Bora. Then, I sailed to Tahaa and then Raiatea.

During my second trip in February, French Polynesia closed and I flew home early. I've been home in Newport Beach (Califiornia) for the past almost-three months!

I head back on 5 May and will depart for the next sailing adventure.

What am I looking for? Friends...? A first mate...? Recreational crew…? Long term or short term? And only amazing people who have a joie de vivre and a global spirit, and want to experience the world and make it better as they go along.

I am communicating with a number of people and look forward to connecting with those that will be a great fit for this year.

What are your plans and what are you looking for? Are you really ready to go sailing?

  • Boat descriptionUpdate 11/22/21. Since June, I’ve had two additional sailing adventures, through the Societies! At the end of December, I’ll sail through the Tuamotus for about 4 weeks. I may have 1-2 spaces available. Seeking FUN, interesting, contributory crew who have a lot to share! Let me know if you’re interested. Alan Update 6/12/21. Heading back to Tahiti on 6/26. I will either head up north to Raiatea, Taha’a and Maupiti and maybe Bora Bora, and/or head to the Tuamotus! I already have interested crew members and want to ensure great chemistry and skill sets aboard! Planning on sailing through about July 22. Seeking fun recreation amd friendship crew! Message me if interested. Here’s a peak at the last adventure: https://youtu.be/v80wtuNVguA Update 5/2/21. Finally heading back on 4 May! Will spend 3 weeks sailing out of Tahiti. Will either stay in the Society Islands or head to the Tuamotus. Would love to have good, fun, ship-shape crew join! DM me if interest and if you can join by Friday 6 May! Alan ——— Update 1/15/2021 I’m so excited about the next adventure... or I should say “chapter?” I’m starting the manifestation of a childhood bucket list dream. On December 4, I signed the bill of sale for Cyrolia, my Jeanneau 53. My plan will be to sail for 3 to 4 weeks at a time, and then return back to California for about a week to handle business and personal projects, and then return back to the boat. I’m envisioning that most of this year, I will be sailing and exploring French Polynesia. I sailed her for the first time on December 31, from Taina Marina, to Moorea, and then to Bora-Bora. Last Saturday I left Bora-Bora for Tahaa, and arrived in Raiatea last Sunday afternoon. She will need is currently at Raiatea Carenage shipyard and will be out of the water for about two weeks. I will go home tomorrow night, or Saturday, for at least a week and a half... maybe two. I plan to return no later than January 30, maybe sooner. I will bring her back to Tahiti for a couple days, and then for most of February, maybe go to Huahine and then back to Bora-Bora. At the end of every three weeks, I will probably return her to Taina marina to her slip, then return home for about a week, and then return to the boat and choose where the next adventure will be… And continue to push “repeat” plus or minus for the next six months. Alan UPDATE 12/6/2020 I'M EXCITED! I finalized the purchase of my new boat, a 2010 Jeanneau 53. She's located in Taina Marina, in Tahiti. I plan to starting sailing in a couple weeks and my be able to add some spots for crew looking for friendships. Let me know what you are interested in, what your skillsets are and what your availability is! Cheers, Alan UPDATE! Saturday, November 21, I will fly to Tahiti to do a final inspection of a 2010 53' Jeanneau sailboat. I will survey the boat next week and barring no major issues, I will purchase her. If anyone would like to jump in and help with some work on the boat, I plan to sail from Tahiti to Raiatea around the 26-27 of November. The boat will stay in Raiatea until about Christmas and then I'll go sailing for a few weeks after, and finally return to Tahiti. I'm sharing to see who might be interested. For the first trip, it will be more of a work trip than a leisure trip... There will be a lot of work to do on the boat. I'm happy to trade time on the boat and water for some help, or, possibly pay for labor help as well. Please let me know! Alan ------------------------- 2018. I have not purchased my sailing vessel yet, that will take me to the South Pacific. I currently have a 40 foot Kettenburg K 40, located in Newport Harbor. My plan is to buy the next boat by June 2019, and leave no later than spring of 2020. If I can make it happen sooner, I will! I’m interested in meeting people now, so that when it’s time to pull the trigger, we can go! In the meantime, let’s connect and go day sailing out of Newport Beach! Interested?
