Fly away, around the world??
First of all I recognize that this is a shot in the dark, but, weirder things have happened. Looking for a travel buddy for around the world trip (not mainly sailing but may do some of that-- a bit of trekking, flying ect) if it develops into more great.
As my son is off in college, and I am at the appropriate point in life where I can focus on me, I am planning phase II (Phase I was in Iceland and E. Europe) of my around the world trip staring up again in Sept 2017. I'd love to find the right person to share this experience with. Someone fun and intelligent. Figured that this would be the best way to network to find a travel buddy/mate. I realize that I am casting a rather large net (geographically speaking), but, distance isn't an issue--settling is.
My plans right now are pretty flexible as I don't want to over plan this. In Sept I am either going to start again in S America or Asia. Trekikng in Nepal and going to Vietnam/Cambodia (Anghor Wat) are on my list of things to do/places to go. On this trip I want to hit many of the off the beaten path and non-traditional type places, not really roughing it, but, not staying in Ritz in Paris either. BTW, in Paris my favorite place is Montemarte/Sacre Coure-my ideal match would probably feel the same and understand this.
After Asia its off to the Middle East and then Europe (Greece) again. One of the reasons for this trip is to explore areas where I might like to be an expat for a few years while my son finishes college.
I recognize that this isn't for everyone, but, if this sounds like something your interested in and you share my desire for adventure lets talk!!
Me: Emotionally and financially stable (Univ instructor on sabbatical, retired military, several grad degrees) and prefer to keep my life drama free and low stress. I enjoy working out and being active outdoors. I'm intrigued by and attracted to other cultures and languages. Lived around the world (Mostly Europe, but also Asia and the Middle East (Israel)) and would like to meet someone who has an appreciation for all the wonders of the world, and, who is spontaneous but not rash.
I like to eat and stay healthy and would prefer someone who is active/healthy as well. True friendship with a partner is most important. I love living near the beach and being outdoors, hiking, biking, paddle boarding, running etc. Also love the mountains.
If you don't have a passport, love to travel and stay fit then we probably aren't a good match. However, if you have a wanderlust, are intelligent and intrigued by the world and cultures-let's talk ASAP. Figured this was a good place to meet someone like me.

P.S. I have also given a lot of thought to being an expat for awhile. I guess this year long trip will let me know if that what I really want to do. If you feel the same (long term travel) that would be a plus.
