Texas to Caribbean

Need men t o complete crew for cruisesail to Caribbean aboard Evening Star , Lord
Nelson 41 . Clean cut, non smoker with reasonable cooking skills . Must be able to work on deck hoisting and taking in sails . Stand watches . Owner will provide food and drink ( no alcohol) while on board . Crew responsible for selves while ashore . Crew departs capon arrival in Rio Dulce unless other arrangements made .

  • Boat descriptionEvening Star is a beautifully appointed sailing yacht with two state room, hot shower, pressure water, gas range, refrigeration, GPS navigation, vhf and single sideband radios, she has a small plant for power when at anchor . A carib dink with 2.5 hp serves as life raft. A recent bottom job and various wood repairs to the interior. a yanmar 110 hp provides power with a range of 550 miles . Evening Star is cutter rigged with roller furling . Captain Tim has been working on boats since early sixties . I had a 100 ton certificate and pilots licenses as well as a certified diver. Coast guard certificate has expired as I no longer carry passengers . Evening star carries life jackets , flares, fire extinguishers, etc. This heavy canoe stern vessel's best sailing is abeam and off wind . Her performance to weather is OK but she's not a racer . Recently crossed from Isla Mujeres, Mex. to Pensacola , Fla. in 3.5 days ! Very Fast ! Cheers,
