Medical Staff - Temporary / Seasonal - United States
Inclusive Adventures is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit serving all with a design focus on Mobility Impaired Wheelchair Users including Disabled Youth, Wounded Veterans, and Elderly.
Possibilities is a 1979 62' Pluckebaum Aluminum Motoryacht with a level-deck floorplan, and 30"+ wide doorways making it ideal for modification for wheelchair accessibility. She has twin 340 Hp Cummings diesels, 20kw diesel generators, and is nearly completely refit over past 2 years.
We are also working on a unique, straightforward fully Inclusive, 26' off-grid Class C RV that is fully capable of being operated from a wheelchair. Earn time using her yourself with one or two family or friends!
Volunteer Home care aide or nurse - no experience necessary but appreciated. Executive Director is quadriplegic (with arm movement, skilled engineer). During Covid good friend helped seven months but she needs some help and relief! She will be staying. It's best with 2 person sharing home care duties to get in and out of bed morning/night, but during the day we work on other projects getting vessel ready for post Covid disabled guests and events but also exploring the Florida Keys next two months.
Volunteers receive room and board while living, learning, and working together on-board (Excluding alcohol and shore-based entertainment) with earned bonus of return travel expenses, etc. Opportunity to get away to the Florida Keys for one or a few months this winter. If timing now is not good, stay in touch!
When not doing homecare (18 hrs / wk), would also help as a deckhand, handle lines, take turns in the galley/cleaning or painting / handyman or with nonprofit such as photos, video, event coordination, etc. We work hard but very rewarding changing lives! If you are also handy with tools tell us about it!
During Covid now Requires you must be in the United States or US Citizen or Green Card to be able to enter, as no visas are available yet. Able to stay with us for 1 month, maybe two. (If we all get along well likely will be invited back - will be making a trip to Mexico by RV and cruising through Great Lakes this summer) Make it a lifestyle, with long-term future opportunities to cruise & 2-3 years sail the Carribean or world in addition to America's Great Loop.
Possibilities has new inclusive joystick controls that also work for someone with mobility impairments to Captain her which we will be proving. These can be disengaged in 15-30 seconds and reverted to her traditional mechanical controls (where you come in). She is off-grid capable with a new 3kw solar hartop, Lifepo4 Batteries, watermaker. Other various tasks that include carpentry, finishing some DC electrical, desiel engine maintenance. She will be pioneering INCLUSIVE adventure trips from Florida to Bahamas and up East Coast for adventurous of all abilities. She has completed 50% of America's Great Loop.

About Inclusive Adventures - Adventures are about the journey, not the destination.
We provide Life Changing Experiences for Uniquely Abled, Wheelchair Users and Non-Wheelers, Young @ Heart, and @ Risk Youth! Created by the Disabled for the Disabled ... or as we prefer ... by the Uniquely Able for the Differently Able.
Adventure offers us a freedom only achieved through overcoming challenges, and our fears. This newfound freedom of thought offers perspective throughout life, literally and measurably changing our lives as we add new skills while developing independence.
The journey itself contributes to every individual's personal development. You acquire new qualities, you become spiritually rich as you learn about culture, traditions, and history of various people living in other places and times. You begin to understand the why. This leads to an inclusive perspective on the ultimate similarities in all people, their goals, desires, and in that realization, differences become trivial details.

You should have a lust for adventure and open-minded, easy-going personality, with a desire to help others and improve the world. I have been designing and implementing modifications to the vessel to make it 100% wheelchair friendly (75% complete). I am a quadriplegic man who uses an electric power wheelchair after forced landing plane crash 15 years ago due to engine failure after takeoff. I have been designing and creating solutions to empower mobility impaired individuals through greater independence for the last 15 years including working with Veterans Administration and other orgs throughout the country.
Abuse of anything such as alcohol or drugs will not be tolerated.
