Skipper and boat manager- Join the SailTime Charters team in Greece!
Wouldn't you rather be sailing on the same well maintained 51 feet sailboat all season, have your own skipper cabin and a steady employment (salary offered for days of non charter as well) instead of having to search for a temporary 7 day job on different charter sailboats each week?
SailTime Charters isn't for everybody. If you hate adapting, playing by the rules or possible extra tasks as boat manager, then we're probably not for you. But if you are an enthusiast skipper and you'd like to use your people skills and happy to go the extra mile to make your passengers happy ( and not for convincing a different charter company to use your services next week) then you need to apply.

Tasks and responsibilities:
You will be responsible for all aspects of running a 7-14 day private charter as well as day sails or mini cruises (2-5 days) on our sailboat. This includes :
- safety of the vessel and passengers,
- follow the Skipper manual and procedures document
- taking care of the vessel itself with all routine maintenance and checks and ensuring the vessel is provisioned and maintained to meet the specific requirements of every trip, etc.
- briefing the clients on the yacht, itinerary and options ; following the suggested routes and customizing the program to the customers interests and weather conditions .
-providing suggestions to the guests for on shore activities, best restaurants, locations ( be their local guide). Training offered.
- yacht preparation on turnaround days to ensure the sailboat is ready for the new guests
- do a general cleaning of the boat mid-way through the charter ;
- in case of a damaged/non-working equipment buy and replace the damaged part (costs covered by Owner).
Profile required:
• freelancer skipper able to issue invoice to MCPY
• previous experience as skipper on charter boats in Greece - at least 1 year
• Greek sailing license or Yacht Master
• perfect knowledge of English
• somebody that can play by the rules; maintaining good communications with the owners and respecting their decisions
• experience as professional skipper on charter boats - minimum 1 year . Experience in the Cyclades in a great plus. Ability to work charters back to back for several months in a row
• flexibility, coach-ability and willingness to follow instructions
• willingness to take on extra tasks or assist in areas outside of your traditional role.
• remaining calm and professional at all times
• STCW preferable
You must be legally able to live and work in Greece OR have a skipper freelance business active in a European Union country.
Total payment : 30.400-40.200 euro/season (in 6 months).
