Sailing with a liveaboard feeling
My rough and current sailing ⛵️ idea (I hate firm plans!) for the months May and June is sailing from around Guadeloupe back South to Trinidad. Slowly, no rush.
Some words about myself:
I grew up on the North rim of the Alps but always dreamed of exploring the Pacific islands by sailboat. It was a long journey so far, and I am not there yet, lol, the best is still to come;-)...
What I did until now is building a sound foundation for this lifetime dream to come true, meaning getting an education, going for a career, gaining solid sailing experience and - not to be underestimated! - years of experience in owning (i.e. maintaining and fixing, lol) a sailboat. I switched to the right boat now to really cast off with, built specifically for cruising the world short handed in comfort and safety, an Island Packet that is. Since I am not the “lonely sailor” type of guy I welcome company. So far, friends of mine did provide me with that but now it seems that there will be increasingly opportunities for people* here on this site to also share with me my joy and happiness.
I’ve got a pronounced sense of humor, I love to joke and laugh, I’m friendly, respectful and easy going, I can take part in a wide range of conversation topics, I am very unconventional in my thinking, supportive and interested in learning something new from newly met people. I am sporty, healthy and fit, both in my body and mind (used to ski, paraglide, motorcycle, scuba dive, go regularly to the gym when there is an opportunity). Eating healthy is important to me. I am open minded and like to explore and try out new things.
And finally a last thing to mention: I have no addictions whatsoever, notably not alcohol (sadly enough that needs to be mentioned on such a site...).
I like to keep the boat in perfect working condition and tidy, and I am a clean person myself:), yet, I am not a pathological case, lol.
I am (height 1.73m, fit BMI of 21) not a bossy skipper, yet I confidently know what I am doing and I am aware of the responsibility I have for both crew sailing with me and the boat.
l can be trusted and I must trust my crew!
If you are a native speaker of Spanish or French I would welcome your help in improving my level of competence in these languages.
I would like you to be fun, funny and easy going in the first place. Further: tidy and clean, very respectful to persons on board and to the boat in all ways at any time. You see the work and you do it. You value to experience the beauty and powers of nature above clubbing and shopping. You want to spend your night at anchor in a lovely bay and cooking on board, rather than mooring in a fancy marina and dining in fine restaurants.
Based on the understanding that each one is responsible for his/her own living cost, a fair cost sharing agreement will be found.
Strictly no tobacco smoking on board.
*applications from fit, single, female crew are welcome, harassment free life on board is guaranteed.
