Captain - Permanent - Min exp 6 years - €5000 - General (Europe)
Looking for a professional and highly experienced Captain for a luxury 85 foot Catamaran.
Start location: South of France
Currently, the yacht is in a marina and will undergo some repairs prior to relaunch scheduled March 2021.
Destinations: Mediterranean with the possibility of crossing to the Atlantic for sailing in the Carribeans then onward to Australia & NZ.
This is a long term position for a hard-working sailor that has years of experience and fully qualified to run a large catamaran without help.
Requirements:
- Full qualifications for sailing a charter sailing yacht worldwide. (no limitations allowed)
- Long term previous Catamaran sailing as captain on multiple yachts.
- Knowledge and experience in the Mediterranean
- Knowledge and experience in the Caribbeans
- Knowledge and experience in the Pacific
- Multiple previous Atlantic & Pacific crossings.
- Friendly, approachable, trustworthy & professional
- Good Management skills
- Proper communication skills
- Able to create itineraries, set sailing routes and manage crew while unsupervised.
- Confident with customs & border regulations worldwide
- Confident in all aspects of maintenance on board
Rules onboard:
- Zero Alcohol for crew (Dry boat)
- Zero Drugs (random tests)
- No smoking onboard
- No Drama
The owners are very strict and do not tolerate any rules to be broken.
The yacht is crewed by a captain plus one deckhand and one professional chef.
Mostly sailed for the owners but will also be chartered occasionally in the Caribbeans and Tahiti.

Owners are experienced in Sailing and want someone to be involved with them while confident with sailing the yacht.
Since her launch, the yacht has successfully completed her 3 year, round the world cruise.
Recruitment process:

4. Phone interview with management
5. Phone interview with the owner
6. Face to face interview (if possible)
Chef is already employed and has been working with the owners since the beginning of 2020.
A deckhand is also required. (fully qualified, very experienced and zero drama)

If you have less than 10 years of professional experience as a Captain then this position is not suitable for you.

Whatchout!! with the owner
The owner and the agent of this vessel are a pair of trickters. At the end of my contract they looked for a lame excuse to not pay my wedges. I try to file a complain in Sweeden but lawyers charge 250 eu p/h. The owner is an spoiled egotistic racist and abuses and treats the crew like slaves.
