EXPENSE & FUN-SHARING sailing trip on the cheap.

" Enjoyed being a Landlubber, but still prefer being a Sailor " ( jab )
" Many hear the call of the sea, but are still sitting on the dock of the bay " (jab )

November 28/2021
URGENT: Presently in Boca Raton, Florida for some repairs, nothing that cannot be fixed over the next few days. In need of replacement crew as both had to leave unfortunately.

May 12/2021
Finally bought a CAL 39 in Connecticut. Have been verifying, fixing, updating it as much as feasible. The boat is in a fairly good shape and welll equipped. All the safety equipment, including an EPIRB are available. The electronics are: Chart Plotter, Radar, GPS and AutoPilot.
COST/SHARING ISLAND SAILING.

" PARADISE CAN BE FOUND ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE. NO BINOCULARS NEEDED !!!" (jab)

PLANNED DEPARTURE:
Beginning of January 2022: ( somewhat flexible )
From Boca Raton,to Key West and then on to Guatemala maybe by way of Mexico or Cuba or Jamaica, and Belize ( Crew to decide ). All the while, monitoring for bad weather, sail all the way to Rio Dulce, Guatemala.
Crew can join for all the trip or part of it. Time and location to be discussed and agreed upond.

Your investment will consist mostly of your personality, willingness to adapt and learn/participate in all aspects of the project, and acceptance of cost-sharing.
The plan calls for the decision-making to where and when we sail, to be STRICTLY a Team effort. The skipper will only retain Power to Veto as it relates to Safety and Security of the crew and boat. Except the final destination: Rio Dulce Guatemala.

Will accept ONLY vaccinated crew as some countries will refuse entry to non-vaccinated persons.

CAUTION: NO DRUG, in any way, shape, type or form are to be brought or used on the boat. Nobody would like to end in some of the jails in some of the countries visited. I am open, but unfortunately, drugs have not been legalized everywhere just yet.

COST SHARING: ( Please read carefully )
Depending on the number of crew (up to 5), the cost should be very low as we will mostly anchor or take a mooring buoy, and stay away from marinas. Depending on how we do, it should be no more than $20/30 per day. A list of costs to be shared will be available to interested party. The skipper/owner, is not part of the Sailing Kitty, as he provides the boat and his expertise. And his repair bills can be pretty high.

The plan is to ultimately get the boat ready to do Coastal sailing in all of Central America Atlantic seaboard, visiting many islands. And have lots of fun doing it.
When reaching Rio Dulce in Guatemala, should anyone be interested in a stay there for a while, space on the boat will be available at a VERY low cost ( 10/15$ a week ).

A little bit about me. But be aware that I retain parts for future conversations.

Hope to hear from you very soon.
Until then, stay safe and healthy on our small planet.

Words of warning: Am VERY POLITICALLY INCORRECT: smoker, drinker, carnivorous and exercise less. But hey, all in moderation. And I do enjoy seafood, fruits and vegetables too. Should you have any problem with any of the above, please refrain from applying.
