Looking for competent crew possibilities, or milebuiding also (Im also an electro/mechanical engineer)
Hi all, I am Paul (from England originally) I am lucky to be in a position where I no longer need to work full-time so I am looking to increase my sailing/boating experience and hoping to take my RYA yacht master in the future. I'm used to living/working with many nationalities and it would be great to be with a crew going somewhere and contributing, I have RYA Day Skipper, and also RYA Power boat 1 and 2 and Dinghy Level 2.
I am a systems engineer so am so consider myself as pretty tech savvy, I am good with electrics and also pretty handy with mechanical engineering. I have spent most of my career as a Sensors technician working for the military or government maritime agencies and have spent the last 15 years working as a specialist in this area and also training engineers the art of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and fault finding so may be of some use for knowledge transfer. I am familiar with RADAR, AIS and VHF etc.
I spent a lot of time driving power boats in the past taking people snorkeling/diving/fishing in my spare time, and also some recent experiences assisting on a 30 meter schooner.
