Yachtmaster Offshore seeking Azores → Portugal passage (Mid May–June). Looking to complete a Yachtmaster Ocean qualifying passage under an Ocean‑level skipper. Confident solo watchkeeper, experienced offshore, reliable, calm, and easy to sail with. Ready to pay.
About Me
I’m a committed offshore sailor holding the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore with commercial endorsement, currently preparing for my Yachtmaster Ocean qualification. My next goal is to complete a proper Ocean qualifying passage, ideally under the guidance of a skipper with Yachtmaster Ocean qualification or equivalent blue‑water background (celestial navigation).
Languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian
I’m available from Mid May to mid June, and I’m specifically looking for passages departing from the Azores toward Portugal, Europe, UK, or nearby destinations. I’m flexible on compensation and ready to pay for tuition — also happy to join as delivery crew, watchkeeper, or shared‑cost crew, depending on the vessel and the skipper’s expectations.
Experience & Skills
→ Confident standing solo watches, including nights
→ Solid offshore experience in mixed conditions
→ Competent with navigation, pilotage, sail trim, and boat handling
→ Comfortable with routine maintenance, deck work, and safety procedures
→ Easygoing, tidy, and reliable onboard, solid cooking
→ Good situational awareness and calm decision‑making offshore
→I enjoy being part of a focused, safety‑minded crew and I’m equally comfortable taking direction or stepping up when needed. I value clear communication, good seamanship, and a positive atmosphere on board.
What I’m Looking For
A skipper or vessel heading east from the Azores where I can contribute meaningfully while completing my Ocean qualifying passage. Ideally, the skipper holds Yachtmaster Ocean or has equivalent ocean‑crossing experience, as I’m keen to learn from someone with deep blue‑water knowledge. (I have completed my celestial navigation theory, but i am not confident in practicing it).
