Looking for a Captain & Crew/Deckand/Cook/Stewerdess Job
We are a married couple with over 6 years of relationship living together, we have been married for over 2 years now. We work great as a team, and we own our own sailboat (43f Ketch) were we have lived together on it for about 4 years, so we understand the importance of up keeping a boat in perfect conditions in all aspects.
I am a certified RYA Yacht Master Offshore Sail with my STCW 2010 up to date. I owned and worked all by myself, a charter company for 7 years doing daily 3/6 hour sailing charter excursions, whale & dolfin watching of the south west coats of Tenerife Canary Islands Spain. I was a one man band, Captain with a Spanish professional licence for up to 150 people (although my 41f sailing boat only allowed 12 passengers) I did it all, from Captaining the vessel, to doing the reservations by teleohone, to selling my business services to excursion shops by meetings, to finding the time to cash out and leave flyers here and there. Then of course once a year dry dock work. I was also the guide aboard explaing everything in different languages, and in occasions, teaching basic sailing knowledge.
My wife, before we met she worked for 3 years on a fleet of four catamarans in the Caribbean city of Colombia Cartagena de Indias were she is originally from, and also on a luxury 80f Jongert ketch monohull. She's a great cook, and gives excellent customer service. She has the STCW 2010 up to date, and also has a Colombian Yacht Captain licence.
We are capable, of not only maintaining the inside of the boat in immaculate conditions, but also on the dry dock we have the ability and experience of fixing damaged fiber with epoxy resin and fiber, change all underwater needs, like anodes, anti fouling, through hull's, water valves, propellers, axle/shaft, and also do all engine maintaince, (except completly taking an engine apart). I have completly changed one old engine for another new one on a sailboat. We have also taken masts down, rerigged, rewired and added necessary lighting to the masts. We have taken off the rudder and restored/fixed it. We can do paint jobs. I have basic knowledge of electrical work. I have fully restored a teak deck, and basically we have done it all regarding fixing and maintaining a boat.
We are looking to find a job as a team, on preferably a sailing vessel, although a motor boat is also posible. We can be a team of two, or both of us work on a vessel with a bigger team.
If security is also needed, I have worked security in the past (before becoming a Captain). I am a boxing, kick boxing and self defence instructor, and I am also qualified in firearms training with firearms licence up to date. In the near future I might take the Armed Maratine Security Officer course MSO.
