A recent college grad from Ohio, looking for a change of life and outlook for the future. New to sailing and maritime.

Heyo. My name is Calvert, or Cal to make it easier. I am from Cincinnati, OH where I have lived all my life. As I've recently graduated college with an Exercise Science degree, I've found myself stumped and having existential crisis in this rat race of a corporate world. While having no maritime experience, I have been inspired to chase that dream of travelling the world.
So yeah a redheaded Ohioan wants to take his skills to the high seas. You could say I was really inspired by Captain Jack Sparrow. I see myself enjoy this lifestyle/career change to live my life my way in the future. I have pontoon boating experience on lakes almost a decade worth now. Many vacations and trips to Florida have me equipped and familiar with the weather, territory, and coastal culture. Spent my summers on a swim team and canoeing in rivers. Been on a handful of commercial cruises. I'd obviously love to talk more about myself but that's always the adventure. As for now, I'm very mellow, chill, laid back guy that my friends would call quiet, methodical, and noticeable when not around. I am professionally fluent in Spanish(i.e. learned in school, and used successfully in corporate setting) and culturally knowledge.
Yes I understand I'm a newbie and that’s why I’m here to learn all I can. I’ve already indulged in YouTube videos, looking into courses, and maybe lifestyle changes(moving to a coast) to prepare for this life of adventure I choose to seek.
Spend my time exercising, enjoying sports, learning and working on a computer, making video edits for fun, and really enjoy skiing (water + snow).
I am often called polite and respectful that I plan to bring to whatever vessel I am on. Not only to be a sponge of knowledge but to be a helpful member of the crew, and make it EXCELLENT!
Yep I'm all kinds of hippie. Recent frustrations with job are leading me to learn to sail. I've been wanting to remotely live and travel. I want to see all of what the world has to offer, enjoy my life and this world, and prove to myself that I can do something great. I see myself "learning the ropes" and etiquette of maritime sailing. Then working a vessel to master that knowledge and gain incredible experience. To one day have my own vessel that I may choose to teach those like me and share more experiences. All in all have no sailing or ocean/sea boating experience. Here to learn and master so that I one day can own my own to sail the world.
