Photographer, filmmaker & empathetic crew looking to learn at sea
Hello, my name is PaweÅ‚ (Paul). I’m 45, from Poland.
I’m at a moment in life where simplicity, presence, and honesty matter more than speed or achievement. After many years of working in demanding environments, I’m consciously choosing a slower, more grounded way of living and learning. The sea appeared in my life very naturally, almost quietly, and I felt a deep pull to follow it.
I’m not coming to sailing with a fixed plan or expectations. I want to learn seamanship from the ground up, understand life on board, and become part of the daily rhythm of a boat. I’m curious, attentive, and genuinely interested in how things work, both technically and humanly. In 2026, I plan to formalize this path by completing the Polish Yacht Skipper license, RYA Day Skipper, and ICC, but for now my focus is on real experience and learning by being at sea.
Creativity has always been part of my life. I work with photography, filmmaking, drone footage, and video editing. I love capturing people, light, movement, and real moments. If useful, I can document life on board in an honest, calm, non-intrusive way, for memories or communication.
I also enjoy cooking and baking. I can prepare simple, nourishing meals, including vegan dishes, traditional Polish food, and fresh bread. I’m comfortable helping with everyday boat life: cleaning, organizing, galley work, learning ropes and deck tasks, watchkeeping, and being where I’m needed.
My background includes working with the body and people. I’ve been a personal trainer and movement instructor, which taught me patience, awareness, and how to stay calm under pressure. I’m interested in mindfulness, breathwork, basic bodywork, and massage, and I naturally bring a steady, supportive presence. I listen well and I respect personal space.
I’m easygoing, empathetic, and adaptable. I value silence as much as conversation, teamwork over ego, and mutual respect over hierarchy. I care about the atmosphere on board and about people feeling safe and seen.
At the moment, my resources are limited, so I’m looking for opportunities where my presence and work on board can cover food and stay. In return, I offer reliability, commitment, good energy, and my full engagement in the shared experience.
I don’t see this as “just crewing”, but as a meaningful step on my personal path. If this way of being resonates with you and your boat, I’d be happy to connect.
