Crew member seeking boat for Transatlantic East/West - Departure France/Spain/Portugal/Italy ➡️ Arrival South America
Hello, my name is Mathieu, I’m 30 years old, and I’m looking to cross the Atlantic to reach the Americas in order to carry out a project I’ve been nurturing for over a year: to travel across the entire continent, from the very south (Patagonia) to the north (Alaska), mainly by hitchhiking—while challenging people from all horizons to chess games along the way!
This past summer I had the chance to sail in the Mediterranean along the French Riviera and the west coast of Corsica, and to make the mainland–Corsica crossing back and forth on a sailboat (Hanse 385). Of course, I don’t claim to be an experienced sailor, but I feel comfortable with all the basic maneuvers, I know the terminology in French so would need it to re-learn it in English, and I can stand night watch. I believe I could, with the assistance of a skipper of course, take on the role of crew member in addition to the usual duties and chores that help maintain the boat and ensure the crew’s comfort. I’m eager to keep learning and to be useful for a smooth and successful crossing ?
Naturally, I will contribute to all necessary expenses and I’m available to help with any preparations beforehand alongside you.

Looking forward to meeting you,
Mathieu
