Looking for a Boat to join for 2 weeks end of December
Hi, Im looking for a boat to join from 21.12 till 2.12.
I have some inland sailing experience (I have an Inland Sailing Licence) but I've never sailed the sea. I understand the basic sailing principles and I'm very eager to learn more. My private life doesn't allow me much sailing (I have a small child) but as I have 2 weeks off I decided to go for it now:) I have an ambition to be able to sail the open sea in the future as I believe this ist the best way to travel - extremely plesant and very ecological.
Here are a few words about me, so you can better judge if we wouold be a good fit on a boat.
I'm nonbinary (neither a woman nor a man, sadly the system on the crewbay doesnt allow choosing that...), neurodivergent, and generally not what you expect:) which at times means that I can be really a lot of fun to be with. You dont need to understand all that, I'm more than happy to explain, I just need you to be respectful of my identity. I'm very direct in my communication and I need you to be direct with me as often I don't understand subtle messages between the lines. I can't stand smalltalk so I tend to have conversations filled with content. I like dancing, nature, psychology, being challenged, expanding my horisons... I don't like swimming much, but I don't mind it if neccecary. I also don't do well with discriminating jokes. I don't smoke and almost never drink alcohol, I do vape weed sometimes but I have no problem going 2 weeks without it. I'm vegan, which I see as a difficulty on board. I will not be helping with fishing and preparing non vegan food. I would be more than happy to cook vegan food for everyone though:)
I'm really good at handling challenging situations, taking responsibility and I learn new skills really fast. I will not be sitting and waiting for you to tell me what to do, I'm rather a kind of person who is taking initiative and asking a lot to be sure I'm doing things right. I will be happy to participate in sailing, taking responsibility for a night watch, cleaning up, cooking (vegan), repairing things and doing whathever has to be done. I don't have any experience with taking care of a boat but I have a good basic understanding of technical stuff. I find it challenging to follow orders when I don't understand the reasons, so I tend to ask - this doesnt mean that I don't trust your judgment, I just need to understand. Of course I will not do that in stressful sailing situations.
When choosing what positions I'm looking for I checked masseur as well:) I'm not a professional masseur but as a dancer I have some understanding of muscles and body and I can give a good, semi professional massage if needed.
