Looking for a Competent Crew, Novice Crew, Friendship or Mile building position

Hi, I'm Andy, just got certified for ASA104 Bareboat cruising on a monohull, but need a lot more experience on the seas! I am currently in Mexico City, want to board either on the coast of Mexico or somewhere else in the Caribbean that I can fly to (Cartagena, Puerto Rico, Havana, DR...) and want to cruise around the Caribe practicing sailing. I have sailed a 32' sloop, 36' and 42' cutter and 36' ketch before.

I am 33. Used to work as a consultant, then photographer, then architect. I learned sailing because I want to be closer to wind and water.

I am eager to learn, to the point and generally a happy person. I am responsible, love exploring but no daredevil, and tidy based on the standards of a guy. I like to cook mediocre meals, read, swim (used to be a swimmer), hike, and love sci fi and fantasy movies. Love a good conversation but also enjoy quiet time.

The perfect fellow for cruising

Andy was my crew on a passage from Trinidad to USVI. He was a wonderful partner, always smiling, learning everything at the speed of light, never tired, and excellent cook. He would be an ideal crew on longer passages and it is most likely he will have his boat some day. He as all abilities for it.

I sailed with Andy from Trinidad to the USVI on a 38' catamaran in early 2026 and he was a great crew mate. Always upbeat, helpful and eager to learn. He's also a great cook and we ate well on this passage. I highly recommend Andy as crew.
