Looking for a Competent Crew, Mile building, Deckhand or Friendship position
Hi - I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew, Mile building, or Deckhand. I am an energetic, enthusiastic person with a strong work ethic, (a Gen X’er) and a passion for life on the water. I am calm under pressure, and attuned to the needs of others, qualities I bring to every team I join.
Though I am newer to the industry, I am eager to learn, take direction well, and am willing to assist in all areas onboard. I have gained some experience to assist with lines, sails, knots, anchoring, Med mooring and of course entering and exiting marinas. I can cook, clean, and I’m told I’m good company.
My goal is to contribute to a happy, high-functioning team while gaining hands-on experience wherever I can be of service. I’m passionate about outdoor adventure, and travel.
I come from the Prairies in Canada and yet I was able to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro! Training was an odd experience with not a mountain around to train on. But I persevered! If I can go 8 days without showering and use the washroom in a tent - I can handle anything - adaptability is a key trait of mine. I am an educated, respectable and worldly, person. I am not a broke backpacker, and I’m not here to party. I do these experiences for the adventure of exploring new places and meeting great people. I am open to a fair exchange of help and friendship aboard your vessel. I’m always excited to lend a helping hand, bring positive energy, and support others in any way I can.
