Antonio Bonaccorso served as a pivotal member of the crew for a ten-month operational period, demonstrating a versatile skill set that spanned intensive shipyard work, blue-water delivery, and stationary vessel management. His service began with a demanding three-month preparation and refit phase in Lowestoft (May to August), where his attention to detail was instrumental in readying the vessel for sea. During the subsequent 3,000 NM delivery from the UK to Lisbon, via Cowes and Gijón, Antonio excelled as a helmsman and watchkeeper. He managed complex routing and night watches with consistent vigilance and professional calm. Once in Lisbon, Antonio’s contribution extended into technical oversight, including a one-month drydock and a series of rigorous test rides. He provided essential support to both the engineer and mechanic in the engine room, proving himself to be a highly capable technical asset during machinery overhauls and system optimizations. Beyond his primary deck and engine duties, Antonio significantly bolstered crew morale through the galley; being Italian, he is naturally a superb cook, ensuring that the quality of life on board matched the high standard of our operations.
