Enthusiastic Novice Crew | Former Chef | Eager to learn the ropes on the South Coast
About Me:
I am a 51-year-old aspiring sailor looking to gain hands-on experience as I move toward retirement. I’ve wanted to do this for years and am currently planning my RYA Competent Crew course. I am looking for recreational sailing opportunities across the South Coast, ranging from single day sails to multi-day trips and bank holidays.
What I Bring to the Boat:
Reliable & Easy-going: I am a total novice but a quick learner, happy to help with all deck duties, lines, and fenders.
Practical Background: I am a former chef; while I’m primarily on board to learn to sail, I’m comfortable in a galley and happy to help with cooking or prep when required.
Financial Contribution: I am always happy to contribute my fair share to the "kitty" (fuel, food, and mooring fees).
I am looking for a safety-conscious skipper who enjoys sharing their knowledge and wouldn't mind a keen, helpful hand on deck.
