Looking for a Deckhand or Stew/Deck position
APPLICATION FOR JUNIOR DECKHAND APRIL 2026
I am a 22-year-old graduate from South Africa currently based in Antibes. I have recently
completed my:
• Honours in Investment Management at the University of Cape Town, South Africa
• Yachting Certificates (STCW, PB2, VHF RADIO, SAMSA MEDICAL, TENDER OPS)
I am now pursuing a full-time career in the yachting industry.
I have recently returned from four months working in Aspen (Colorado, United States) in fast
paced, service-oriented roles, where I developed strong teamwork, communication skills, and
the ability to perform under pressure.
I have always been drawn to the ocean and have spent much of my life engaged in water-based
activities such as surfing, waterskiing, and fishing. This background has not only built my
passion for the sea but has also developed my physical fitness, resilience, and comfort in
marine environments.
In addition, I bring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work long,
demanding hours in high-pressure environments. Through my studies and previous work
experience, I have developed discipline, adaptability, and a practical, hands-on approach—
qualities I believe are well suited to a deckhand role. I am fully prepared to start with day work
and take on any task required.
