Professional Skipper / Delivery Captain / Sailing Instructor – 60,000 NM
Hi, I’m Mathias Baresel, a professional skipper, delivery captain and sailing instructor based in Berlin/Brandenburg, Germany.
I have around 60,000 nautical miles of experience as skipper on sailing yachts, motor yachts, catamarans and houseboats up to 20 m LOA. My experience includes yacht deliveries, skipper training, SKS/SSS training, catamaran training, heavy-weather training, passage planning and practical emergency/manoeuvre training.
Areas I know include the Baltic Sea, North Sea, IJsselmeer, North Atlantic, Canary Islands, Caribbean, parts of the Mediterranean including Croatia, the Andaman Sea and European inland waterways.
I hold SSS, SBF See, SBF Binnen motor and sail, SRC, UBI and lifeguard certification. I speak German, English and Spanish fluently, with basic working communication in French and Dutch.
I am especially interested in paid skipper work, yacht deliveries, individual skipper training, catamaran training and high-quality coaching or handover trips. I bring calm leadership, strong teaching experience and a clear, socially pleasant way of working with crews and clients.
