Looking for a Voluntary work, Friendship or 1st Mate position
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a sailing yacht / crew position from May to June 2026.
I’m currently in Goa, India, but I can travel to any part of India, Sri Lanka or the Maldives or other in Asia to join the boat. Ideally, I would be interested in a passage from Asia towards Europe, especially via the Red Sea / Suez / Mediterranean route, but I’m open to other interesting sailing opportunities in the region as well.
I hold an IYT Bareboat Skipper certificate, although I’m honest about having limited practical experience and I’m mainly looking to gain more sea miles and learn from experienced sailors. I’m happy to join as crew, watchkeeper or deckhand.
In everyday life I’m a researcher with a PhD in technical sciences, working in the field of polymers. I’m responsible, clean, drug-free, easy-going and used to travelling. I’m ready to help with watches, helming, cooking, cleaning, docking, anchoring, basic maintenance and any general work on board.
To be transparent, my budget is limited, so I would be looking for a working passage. I can contribute to a reasonable food kitty, but I’m mainly hoping to exchange work, reliability and a positive attitude for a berth and practical sailing experience.
