RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore (CE)
I am a proactive and positive individual with a strong work ethic, the ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment and a high attention to detail; recognising problems before they arise. Involved in all aspects on board, leading the team from the front with a hands-on approach, therefore ensuring the crew perform to the highest standard and provide a superior service to owners and guests alike.
I have been sailing professionally for the last 8 years, but have sailed both competitively and recreationally since the age of 6. Initially my career began on the water by spending two years as a flotilla lead and charter skipper. I have further developed my skills as First Mate on board a 32m private lifting keel performance sloop and 37m charter motoryacht.
I have a strong knowledge of marine engineering, systems and boat building, all of which I studied in great depth as part of my degree. After graduating, I greatly enhanced this knowledge with practical experience and exposure to shipyard operations and project management, which I have continually refined throughout the last 8 years.
I am currently in the UK studying for my OOW 3000. I have finished the modules and awaiting my oraI, where after I will be looking for another mates role or 2nd officer onboard.
