Deckhand/Skipper/Delivery Crew
RYA Day Skipper, ICC licensed, VHF licensed, with sailing experience in the Florida Keys, English Channel, Atlantic, Aegean and Mediterranean Sea. Skilled in:
• Navigation. Experienced in using charts, transits and fixes, calculating distances, bearings, estimating positions, planning passages and courses to steer around rocks in strong tides and bad weather, calculating depths and the impact of tide and wind at any hour. Maintaining regular logs.
• Interpreting weather forecasts and sourcing good quality weather forecasts.
• Pilotage. Careful planner of entering unfamiliar ports and maneuvering in a constrained space.
• Practical understanding of anti-collision regulations and the appropriate actions to take in any situation to avoid collision. Experienced with crossing busy channels such as the Gibraltar Strait, Florida Strait and the English Channel.
• Night-watching, understanding most lights colours and frequencies. Experienced with long hours of night watching in the English Channel where there are several ships channels.
• Understanding all IALA Buoyage, shapes, ensign etiquette.
• Helming in all weather conditions for long hours, making decisions about tacks, gybes and sails trimming.
• Trimming sails for any point of sail.
• Performing engine checks, health and safety checks, water and fuel sourcing, briefings.
• Monitoring strictly fire hazards and health and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of emergency signals, equipment and procedures.
• Operating tenders.
• Can tie 8 knots.

• Business and office skills with over 10 years experience.
• Accounting skills with 6 years experience which includes doing VAT returns, annual returns and accounts for two micro entities, managing budgets, processing and issuing VAT invoices, maintaining cash book, sales book, purchase book, forecasting cash flow.
• Video shooting and editing skills acquired from a Degree in Film and Photography and 2 years' work in the film industry. I edit on Adobe Premier.
• Social Media engaging – I have a disciplined streamlined methodology for updating social media channels quickly and efficiently.
• Trading. Acute awareness of trends. I have designed my own methodology for predicting movements and turn dates.
• Psychology and alternative therapies. I have a Degree in Psychology and 6 years' experience as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. These skills are transferable to any situation in life. I am a competent manager of myself, my physical and mental health and fitness. I understand child development and psychological well-being from childhood to adulthood. I enjoy informing and helping people with their questions and concerns on these matters.
• Cleaning with care and attention to detail. I enjoy cleaning and taking good care of interiors. I have 3 years experience as a House Keeper in a hotel.
• Cooking. I enjoy cooking and can cook European, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Mexican food to a tasty standard.
Aptitudes:
I am sporty and energetic, practicing sports, dancing and yoga for many years and maintaining healthy nutrition. I am a positive, motivating influence to most people who come in contact with me and my high spirit and inner calmness make me a valuable asset in sailing conditions.
Hobbies:
Video shooting and editing, swimming, dancing, singing and partying, visiting foreign lands, mixing with the local people, exchanging positive vibes, trying their food and learning about their life. I love people and I love being alive.
