I am a life long sailor. Extended experience as sailboat captain and as scientist on research vessel. All German captains licenses for recreational vessels. Sporthochseeschifferschein (SHS) equivalent to Yacht-master Ocean which qualifies to skipper a yacht of any length in all parts of the world (up to 12 guests). Have sailed or captained all kind and all sizes of boats. Sailed all the Caribbean for several years, US East coast, Canada, Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea, North Sea, Atlantic crossings.... Have my own sailboats behind my house in Florida. Residency in Germany and the US.
I normally spend the summers in Europe! Because being a professional, I prefer to be paid. But for a very interesting assignment, I would consider a different arrangement.
I'm confident swimmer, rarely/unlikely seasick, good communicator, no body piercings, no facial piercings, no tattoos at all, clean & tidy, committed, eager to learn & work, fit & healthy, friendly, polite, diligent, positive outlook, skilled, organized, discreet, trustworthy, open minded, enthusiastic, easy going, sense of humor, available on my own, enjoy cooking, don't mind cleaning, good with maintenance, can follow orders, enjoy teaching.
German Environmental Engineer. Currently working for government environmental agency. Avid photographer and diver (CAMAS 1 Star). Additional educated in medical field: Lab Tech, Med Tech, Dietitian. Very knowledgeable about everything around boats. Over 40 years sailing experience. Sailed or captained all kind and sizes of boats.
My motivation and reasons to crew on boats are to share experience, visit remote places, seek adventure, face challenges.
I own sailboats, but single hand sailing is not so much fun. Currently racing on friends' boats and sailing my pocket cruiser in Florida waters. Love challenges and sailing in remote places. Because it takes too long to bring my boat to the places, I would love to see, I prefer to crew on other people's boats.
