I've decided to return to the water again! Seeking deckhand position for yacht delivery(ies) or similar.
Professionally I am an electrical engineer, with a side business in woodworking (strakestudio.com). I am familiar with yacht delivery and offer myself for not only night shift & cooking, but maintenance, troubleshooting, dirty jobs, music, palaver. Three years ago was my last bluewater sail, and now I live in Detroit, designing electronics for FCA (Jeep, Dodge, Ram etc.), occasionally sailing the Great Lakes. I take pride in my reliability and contributions to the wellness of the ship and crew.

I have spent the previous seven months on a road trip across USA, and I am eager to get onto the ocean. I had an excellent career in the auto industry as a design engineer, until I decided that I will not live for money, but use money to live. I planned a departure from my career, all in good faith and understanding from my employer, and hit the road in June of last year. People ask what I am running from, or if I am crazy, but I am really just trying to get the most out of my youth before settling down into a family and career. I have always been motivated, focused, and hard working, and my work has paid off by putting me in a financial position to take time off of work without jeopardizing my future. I look for positivity, honesty, and determination in the people I associate with, and do my best to demonstrate these. My energy is higher than average, and I try to fill each day with as much stimulation and activity as possible. I honor reading and learning as much as physical activity. I will not turn down a dance or a party, but I also do not prefer to be a binge drinker and sacrifice my awareness.
I have a degree in electrical engineering, which I could apply to any boat's electrical systems after a little reading. I am a licensed amateur radio technician KC3ADK. I strive to be capable in all fields, and I will not shy away from any dirty work or intimidating challenges, from wiring troubleshooting, to scrubbing the deck, to negotiating, to babysitting. I tolerate discomfort well. I am looking for adventure and new experiences, and I am confident that I will carefully approach each of the associated challenges and work to overcome any setbacks that nature or man will bring upon me.
There is so much stimulation on this planet that cannot be experienced in a lifetime. Now that I have saved money to reserve my basic needs for the next few years, I seek the excitement that I don't yet know of, and the experiences that have not yet manifested, which I will accept in whichever form they come. After establishing my well-being in the office, I leave to see the elephant, in the watery part of the world.
