Sailing from Panama to Costa Rica in Feb 2022?
A little about me :)
I've loved sailing Tall ships, gaff rigg ketches, racing on the Young 88s in New Zealand and crusing on board an Oyster 53, Benatteaus, Sun Odyssey Jeanneaus, catamarans, Darfour yachts, as well as custom designed racing boats, gaining 20k ocean miles.
I've sailed the South Pacific from New Zealand - Vanuatu - Australia, around the Coral Coast, Arafura Sea, The Med from La Linea to Lanzorote, and crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Lanzarote - Cape Verde - Montevideo - Las Malvinas - Punta Arenas on Tall Ship Bark Europa as watch leader to a crew of 15 ... 84 days at sea and loved it!
I've gained lots of experience on all vessels, including helming, chart and navigation work, being on the foredeck during races, maximising sail capacity, deck hand tasks including sanding, sail repairs and attaching them to the upper top sail yard arm whilst in the middle of the ocean.
I enjoy both the radio work and meal planning and cooking - especially when challenged in the squalls. I'm getting my head around the engines and the mechanics and of course the meteorological work as I sail in different conditions.
I have not yet been sick sea in the passages I've completed, and I'm not afraid to be up on deck in the rougher waters.
I am a great team player, eager to learn more, a great cook, lots of fun and love deep, interesting conversations, whilst also loving time by myself for quiet deep reflection & study.
Please note that I am "vaccinated" with the Covid injection nor do I intend to be. I am however up to date with all other vaccines necessary.
